Barents Rescue 2015 planning
The next Barents Rescue exercise will take place in Finland in the second half of 2015. The planning and preparations start at the Initial Planning Conference in Rovaniemi, already in September this year.
Reduction of environmental Hot Spots
The further exclusion of Hot Spots from the list of Barents Environmental Hot Spots was in focus at the meeting of the BEAC Working Group on Environment in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia in April 2014. Altogether six issues of special environmental concern have so far been excluded from the list of 42 Environmental Hot Spots. In Karelia there is a potential to exclude even two more Hot Spots in the near future.
